This is the official website for Newcastle United FC. This is a prime example of what a good website looks like. The visual presence of this website is very opening and doesn’t overwhelm the user, the colour scheme used is thorough throughout the website and cross links to the colours of the club (this being black and white). Easy navigation is key when it comes to user experience and this website makes it very easy to navigate your way around. There is a logo in the top left which will take you back to the home page whenever you click it and there is also a navigation bar for all the different pages the website has. Special feature such as fading pictures and automatic gallery scrolling really emphasises the fact it is a good user friendly website. With latest updates being on the home page it means users don’t have to go searches for the most up to date news on the various different pages which is beneficial for saving users time.
MGBD Parts is just one example of bad website design that is out their in the online world. There are several reasons that this website is not very good. One reason is the overwhelming text and photos, a user doesn’t want to see too much visually when they first go onto a website. The home page should contain an overview of what can be expected from the website (an introduction so to say). The colour scheme of this website is also very questionable as there is too many colours on one page. For a good website you should be looking at three colours maximum to create aesthetically pleasing content. Also on this website the navigation bar is down the left hand side which sometimes is a good thing as you read from left to right, however, in this case it is ruined by the various sizes of text used and the cars in the background of each and every button. Overall this is a bad website design and on first glance a user would more than likely search for a different website.
