Conventions

When Designing a website it’s important that the website follows website conventions to make sure the website is easily accessible and looks familiar to use.

Some of the following are Websites conventions; Logo Placement, Main Navigation, Content Hierarchy, Using a Grid, Link Styling, Buttons & Colours.

A good example of a website convention which has been developed and used by almost every website is the navigation menu. Its placement is always in the top right corner, making it familiar for new users and effortless to navigate. This also links to usability, accessibility; making sure that the website is accessible to all users such as visually impaired, visibility is important for users to access and understand whats on the website. For example, using black for text and making sure text is a readable size.
